Class Descriptions...

Sunrise Yoga (Mixed Levels)

Sunrise Yoga is a Mixed Level Hatha Flow (Level 1 & Level 1-2) class suitable for the enthusiastic beginner and intermediate student. Modifications and enhancements will be given as needed.

This class will start with gentle stretching to wake up the body. Depending on the needs of the students we will either keep it slow and easy or move into a more vigorous vinyasa flow.

*Meditation & Sound Healing (Community Class)

Utilizing Buddhist awareness principles this class helps navigate the way out of the multilayer stress syndrome of modern living. In this class you'll become aware of the mind's conditioned restless activity and learn how to create stillness while embracing the full range of your human experience. This class combines Buddhist style yoga, walking meditation, deep relaxation and gong sound healing.

* This class is FREE and Open to the Community (donations appreciated).

*Placentia Community Yoga for a Healthy Back

Through the City of Placentia's Community Recreation Dept., this class focuses on gentle and therapeutic exercises that safely stretch, strengthen and improve mobility in the spine. Participants will learn a set of exercises designed to keep the back healthy and relieve pain and discomfort associated with back tension. Yoga for a Healthy Back is a wonderful adjunct to chiropractic treatment and traditional medicine (with permission from your doctor).

* Register through the City of Placentia Recreation Department. Next session begins March 7th and ends April 25th (no class on April 18th).

An exhilarating dance-fitness sensation that blends easy to follow choreography with upbeat world rhythms for a total-body workout. This class is a fun cardio exercise that burns calories quickly and is good for weight loss.

Gentle Hatha (Level 1)

A beginner friendly class that introduces Hatha yoga breathing techniques, stretches, postures and flowing movements (beginning vinyasa) that will relax and renew mind and body. Designed to help you become more in tune with your body while improving flexiblity, strength and balance.

Gentle Yoga Blend (Level 1)

This class combines gentle components of Hatha yoga, Qi-Gong and Kundalini yoga to create a safe and healthful experience for beginners of all ages. You'll move every joint, muscle and tendon, improve flexiblity, strength and balance and release stress and tension while learning more about different styles of yoga and Qi-Gong.

Hatha Flow (Level 1-2)

For the advanced beginner or intermediate student, this class provides more detailed instructions on the alignment of basic postures and introduces more advanced postures with an emphasis on balance, strength building and deeper stretching combined with vinyasa flow (sun salutations).

Hatha Flow (Level 2)

For the seasoned yoga student this class requires the strength and stamina of a regular yoga practice. More challenging balancing and twisting postures are combined with vinyasa flow (sun salutations). Poses are held longer and the pace is not rushed.

Kundalini Yoga / Meditation (Mixed Levels)

A traditional form of kriya yoga brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan that utilizes breath and movement to awaken energy flowing in the spine. Classes include kundalini yoga meditations that work directly to strengthen the nervous system and balance the endocrine system while raising consciousness.

Restorative Yoga (Level 1)

This class begins with gentle stretching to release restlessness from the body. Then you'll savor the deep relaxation of restorative yoga postures, comfortably cushioned and proped into restorative poses, learning to relax deeply while improving flexibility. This class will leave you feeling nourished and well rested.
